Thank you for visiting Lake City
Community School. We are the only school in the Hinsdale County
School District RE-1, serving a pre-school through
12th grade enrollment of approximately 100 students. Because of our
small class sizes, we are able to provide an innovative,
award-winning, and highly personalized education for each of our
students.
We firmly believe in the efficacy of experiential
education, so our staff focuses on hands-on instruction that
challenges the student in all areas. Students at Lake City Community
School have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities
including sports, unique field trips, and community service.
We also work closely with each
student's family. We have implemented a bi-annual conference with the
student, his/her parents, and teachers in order that we may assess
each individual student's needs and help them achieve their personal
goals.
