Academics
LCCS is fully accredited by the State of Colorado and consistently ranks among the top public schools in the state, as recognized by the Colorado Department of Education. The school has earned prestigious honors such as the Colorado John Irwin Schools of Excellence Awards and “Accredited with Distinction” status.
The school is staffed by a team of experienced educators dedicated to individualized and experiential learning. Elementary students are grouped into four classrooms led by teachers for preschool, K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 grades. Secondary students are taught by subject-specific teachers specializing in language arts, math, science, and social studies. These educators also lead elective classes such as drama, health, journalism, personal finance, AP cybersecurity, AP computer science.
Part-time staff enhance the curriculum by teaching health/physical education, art, music, Spanish, and STEM programs, as well as serving as instructional assistants. Special education staff work with students across all grade levels to ensure every child receives the support they need.

What does this rating mean, and how does it compare to other districts?

This rating is assigned to districts based on academic achievement, academic growth, and postsecondary workforce readiness.
- Academic achievement is a measurement based on the yearly state assessment scores determining where students are academically based on grade level standards.
- Academic growth measures the relative growth of students from year to year. Students’ growth is measured for those who have taken the state assessment in consecutive years.
- Postsecondary workforce readiness examines graduation benchmarks, SAT scores, and dropout rates.
